The basic sound is muted to a very soft level, which is ideal for hotel rooms etc. The complete range of the tenor trombone plays incredibly good with a wonderful intonation in both the lower and higher registers.

As advertised. Great product, has definitely helped me to have a productive practice session in situations when I might not have been able to practice at all before. It also helps me to focus on fundamentals of breathing and supporting each tone, improving my "mute-less" tone quality.
