I finally received the Van Dijk Practice Mute I've been eagerly awaiting. This mute impresses me not only in terms of its weight and how well it fits with my instrument but also with its striking appearance. What surprised me the most is the intonation across all the ranges. Particularly with the lower registers, I can feel the compactness and stability in articulation, undoubtedly making it the best mute I've ever tried.
This is an excellent practice mute, one that is well in tune and blows well across all registers of the instrument. It's also very compact and easy to transport. I've found that it works very well for warm-ups, and even occasional full practice sessions if you find yourself in a situation where you cannot play at full volume. It's a real life saver for someone like me, who lives in an apartment with many neighbours nearby!
